How to dry your towels?--Liqun Towel

It may seem like a simple process to dry towels, but if you want to increase the lifespan of your towels, some basic tips can keep your towels fluffy, absorbent and useful for years. When you notice pulls or loose threads, cut them off immediately to avoid threads from pulling or causing further damage. Never use softener liquids or sheets on towels, as these products coat the towels and prevent their soaking up moisture. Never fold or put away towels that are wet or damp, as this causes them to smell musty, even if recently cleaned.

After Use

Shake the towel out over the tub or in the shower after use so that you can hang it up without it bunching or creasing. Hang it over the shower rod or a towel rod so that it hangs freely for drying. If you bunch it up, it can develop a musty smell. Only use a towel a minimum of three times and then set it in the laundry for washing. If you use a towel more than three times, you`re essentially wiping a clean body with a dirty towel filled with millions of dead skin cells.

In the Dryer

To effectively dry towels in the dryer, lose the softener sheets. Shake out the towels and fluff them with your fingers before adding them to the dryer. If they are sopping wet, wring them out thoroughly to remove excess water. Do not dry towels with jeans, shoes, clothes with buttons, zippers and clasps or any other items that may contain these types of hardware. When you throw towels in with the rest of the clothes or household items to dry, the towels can develop thread pulls, which can damage them. Place towels in the dryer without adding anything but towels, washcloths or other household linens.

Air-Drying Outside

The best place to dry towels is outside in the fresh air. When you have a clothesline in the sun, the sun`s ultraviolet rays also help to sanitize the towels and keep them smelling fresh. Hang the towels so they drape freely without creases in them. Once they are dry, they might feel a little stiff. To soften them, toss them in the dryer on the air fluff cycle for 5 to 10 minutes, adding a damp washcloth to the load or tennis balls to soften the towels.

Before Drying

Periodically add 1 cup of vinegar to the wash cycle in place of detergent to strip the towels of detergent and softener buildup. Repeat the wash cycle the second time with detergent to clean the towels. You can also add vinegar to the rinse cycle to keep towels soft and fluffy instead of using liquid softeners. Do not use apple-cider vinegar; instead, use white distilled vinegar. Add about 1/8 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle in place of softener liquids for soft towels.
