How to make the right bill of lading

According to the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP500) (Aet.23) and the Bank's review standards, the correct control of single-modal or port-to-port bills of lading has the following requirements:

First, the entire set of original bills of lading has a number of sheets. Whether it is submitted in accordance with the terms of the letter of credit.

2. Whether the full name of the carrier (CARRIER) and the word "CARRIER" are indicated on the front of the bill of lading to indicate their identity.

3. If the front of the bill of lading has been indicated as above, when the carrier signs the bill of lading by itself, the signing office is no longer required to clarify the term of the carrier and its full name. For example, if the front of the bill of lading has been clarified (or printed), the carrier's full name is XYZ LINE and the word "CARRIER" to indicate its identity. At the signing of the bill of lading (generally in the lower right corner of the bill of lading) via XYZ LINE and its responsibility People can sign it. If the bill of lading is not made as shown in (2); and when the bill of lading is signed by the transport bank (FORWARDER), the identity of the signatory must be indicated at the signing office. Such as: ABC FORWARDING CO as agents for XYZ LINE, the carrier or ABC FORWARDING Co on behalf of XYZ LINE the carrier. If the front of the bill of lading has been indicated as (2), but the bill of lading is signed by the transport bank (FORWARDER), the signatory must be identified at the signing office, such as ABC FORWARDING CO as agents for the carrier or as agents for/on behalf. Of the carrier.

4. If the bill of lading is printed on the words "Shipped in apparent good order and condition on board...", it is not necessary to add "On board notation"; ("Received in apparent good order and condition for shipment...") must be added with "shipment endorsement" plus the date of shipment.

5. If the bill of lading is printed with an indefinite description such as "intended vessel", "intended port of loading", "intended port of discharge" and/or other "intended...", the "shipment endorsement" must be added. The actual loading name, loading port, unloading port and other items must be clarified. Even if there is no change between the expected ship name and the loading port, it needs to be repeated.

6. Single-port shipping means that the port-to-port, Ocean vessel and Port of Discharge modes are only available in the port-to-port (porting port to port of discharge) mode of transport. Fill in correctly; if you are in Transhipment, the port name of the Port of tcano hipment cannot be placed in the Port of discharge column. When necessary, only the “transshipment at XX (transshipment port)” “with transhipment at ××” can be indicated in the cargo space of the bill of lading.

7. "Port" and "place" are different concepts. Some bills of lading are printed with "place of receipt/taking in charge" and "place of delivery/final destination" for the purpose of "multimodal transport" for bills of lading ( Mulli-madal transport) or "combined transport" for transporting documents. Cannot be filled when shipping in a single type. Otherwise, it will lead to a misunderstanding of whether the mode of transport is a single type of transport or multimodal transport.

8. The “precarriage by” column printed on the bill of lading is also used for the “multimodal transport” method. It cannot be used as a column for the name of the forward sea liner when the bill of lading is transferred. In the case of multimodal transport documents, the “rail”, “truck”, “air transport” or “river” (Rail, truck, air, river) transport modes are indicated in this column.
