Pakistan's textile exports are low

Pakistan sets a textile export target of 16 billion U.S. dollars this year. However, due to the impact of the energy shortage crisis, actual exports may be only US$ 12 billion, which is US$ 4 billion lower than the target of US$ 16 billion. Pakistani government officials estimate that the shortage of natural gas this year may be as high as 700MMCFD, which is higher than last year's 500MMCFD. Christmas orders are the best time for Pakistan textile exports. However, orders fell by as much as 50% before Christmas this year, and Christmas-related exports may face a decline of US$1.5 billion.

Pakistani textile industry sources stated that Pakistani textile mills were unable to complete orders in a timely manner due to a serious shortage of electricity and natural gas. As a result, some foreign importers changed orders from neighboring countries, causing huge losses to Pakistani textile industry. According to estimates, only 15% to 20% of Pakistan's orders were transferred to countries such as Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka. This year due to energy shortages, order loss may be even more serious.
