Spring Festival promotes double-digit growth in textile and apparel exports

Due to the influence of the Spring Festival holiday, the working day in January 2013 was 5 days longer than that in January 2012, which promoted the rapid growth of the country's foreign trade exports.

According to customs statistics, in January this year, the total value of China's foreign trade import and export reached 345.59 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%. Among them, exports were 187.37 billion U.S. dollars, up 25%; imports were 158.22 billion U.S. dollars, up 28.8%; trade surpluses were 29.15 billion U.S. dollars, up 7.7%.

In January, exports of textiles and garments continued to grow, with exports of 24.69 billion U.S. dollars in the month, an increase of 14.7%, of which textile exports were 9.18 billion U.S. dollars, up 19.7%, and apparel exports were 15.51 billion U.S. dollars, up 12.1%.
